How To Make Mashed Potatoes
There are tons of ways to cook a potato. You can bake it, fry it, hell you could even eat it raw. We don’t recommend that. Here’s the easiest one to do: how to make mashed potatoes.
1. Peel the potatoes. The best way to peel the potatoes is to use a potato peeler. But if you don’t have one (likely) just use a knife. Take off the skin, as much as you can. It won’t be the end of the world if you have some skin left over, but try and get as much as possible off.
2. Cut up the potatoes. Slice ‘em up, chop em up into small chunks.
3. Boil the potatoes. Boil the potatoes in a pot of water. Boil them until they’re soft and close to being mushy. This should take about 15 minutes or so. Add in some salt while you do this.
4. Mash the potatoes. Again, the best tool for this is a potato masher, but you can do this with anything. A fork is handy. Just smush them all together, whip it up together. Put in some butter and/or milk.
That’s it, you made mashed potatoes. Congratulations.
